The BICS Business is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager

• Accurate financial reporting:The Financial Reporting Manager will ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Regulatory compliance:Responsible for maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, ensuring that all financial reporting adheres to legal requirements.
• Data analysis and interpretation:The role involves analyzing financial data, interpreting results, and providing insights to support decision-making processes.
• Collaboration with stakeholders:The Financial Reporting Manager will collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, and external auditors, government agencies, and custom authorities to facilitate effective communication and reporting.
• Continuous improvement:The manager will identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support to CFO:Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Reporting Manager will provide necessary information and analysis to support strategic financial planning and reporting initiatives.

• Preparation of financial statements:Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., SYSCOHADA, IFRS)
• Regulatory compliance:Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies by staying updated on relevant laws and guidelines.
• Data analysis:Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, providing insights to the CFO and other stakeholders.
• Collaboration with auditors:Liaise with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing any inquiries.
• Process improvement:Identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Internal control over financial reporting:Ensure compliance with internal controls covering financial reporting including but not limited to transaction accounting, VAT accounting, property plant and equipment accounting, treasury accounting and all other components of financial statements.

• Reporting accuracy:Timeliness and accuracy of financial statements (measured in days).
• Compliance rate:Percentage of compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Data analysis effectiveness:Quality and relevance of financial data analysis provided to stakeholders.
• Process improvement metrics:Number of process improvements implemented and their impact on reporting efficiency.

• Internal:Chief Financial Officer, Finance Team, Department Heads, Operations Team
• External:External Auditors, Regulatory Authorities

• Team leadership:Oversee and mentor the financial reporting team, ensuring professional development and performance management.
• Resource allocation:Ensure the proper allocation of resources within the financial reporting team to meet reporting deadlines and objectives.
• Motivation and guidance:Serve as a role model for team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Performance monitoring:Monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure high-quality financial reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards:Solid understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
• Data analysis skills:Ability to analyze financial data, draw conclusions, and provide actionable insights.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge:Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the organization.
• Collaboration skills:Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including auditors and internal departments.
• Process improvement orientation:Ability to identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices in financial reporting.
• Language skills:Must be bilingual. Fluent English and intermediate French, or fluent French and intermediate English is critical.
