Positions Available1DescriptionThe World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Cameroon has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an Agro Tourism and Programming Advisor. The WWF TRIDOM project seeks to ensure the protection of the Dja forest reserve in Cameroon which is currently facing poaching and habitat degradation. To reduce the pressure on timber resources, forest communities are encouraged to engage in the development of non-timber forest products. WWF supports smallholder farmers to increase their cocoa production through organization in cooperative and marketing. The PCRV will collaborate with WWF field technician in the biological monitoring of forest products through mapping and tracking. BA/BS in Tourism, Ecology, Agriculture, Rural Development, or Environmental Science, or other relevant fields.
3 or more years of work experience related to agro-ecotourism program, small business development, or project planning and implementation.
Skills in the application of modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other related mapping technology.
International work experience or relevant work experience in intercultural, low-resource environments
In the South Region, French is the primary language used in the community.
