- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and donor financial statements.
- Process payments, including staff advances, vendor invoices, and reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including cash books, ledgers, and supporting documents.
- Support the Finance Officer in preparing budgets and monitoring expenditures against project budgets.
- Assist in managing petty cash and ensuring timely replenishment with proper documentation.
- Help ensure compliance with donor requirements, internal financial policies, and local regulations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with monthly and year-end financial closings.
- Support internal and external audits by organizing and providing required documentation.
- Maintain a proper filing system for financial documents (both physical and digital).
- Liaise with program and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate financial support for project activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded project.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Understanding of donor compliance (e.g., USAID, EU, UN, etc.) is an asset.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in French and English if possible.
