- Financial Record Maintenance: The General Ledger Accountant will maintain accurate and current financial records in the general ledger, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
- Tax and VAT Oversight:This position will manage the preparation and submission of tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
- Fixed Asset Management:The General Ledger Accountant will handle the accounting of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposals, ensuring correct reporting in financial statements.
- Inventory Oversight:Responsible for managing inventory accounting, ensuring precise valuation and recording of inventory transactions.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation:This role involves reconciling all balance sheet accounts (except accounts receivable and accounts payable) to guarantee accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support to Financial Reporting:The General Ledger Accountant will supply necessary information and analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making processes.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all entries in the general ledger, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Tax and VAT Returns:Prepare and submit tax and VAT returns in accordance with legal requirements, ensuring timely filing of monthly and annual returns and precise calculations. Serve as point of contact for annual tax audits by tax administration.
- Fixed Asset Accounting:Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Inventory Accounting:Supervise inventory transactions, ensuring precise valuation and proper accounting treatment following relevant standards.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation:Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting Support:Assist in preparing financial statements and reports, offering insights on financial performance and position.
- Accuracy of Financial Records:Timeliness and precision of general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Tax Compliance Rate:Percentage of tax and VAT returns submitted punctually and without errors.
- Fixed Asset Management Efficiency:Accuracy of fixed asset reporting and compliance with depreciation schedules.
- Inventory Valuation Accuracy:Precision of inventory valuations and timely reporting of inventory adjustments.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation Timeliness:Promptness of balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.

- Oversight of Accounting Processes:Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures in the general ledger function.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to guarantee accurate financial reporting.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff when necessary.
Expected Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years in general ledger accounting or a related position.Key Capabilities
- In-Depth Knowledge Of Accounting Principles: Strong grasp of accounting standards and principles, especially concerning general ledger maintenance.
- Tax And VAT Knowledge:Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance obligations regarding VAT and corporate tax, including annual tax return filing.
- Fixed Asset Accounting Skills:Experience managing fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and disposals.
- Inventory Management Acumen:Knowledge of inventory accounting methods and practices.
- Analytical Skills:Capable of analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies, and providing practical insights.
- Good Understanding Of ERP Systems.
- Proficient In Excel And MS Office Tools.
- Language Skills:Must be bilingual. Fluent English and intermediate French, or fluent French and intermediate English, are essential.
- Attention To Detail:High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.
- Problem-Solving Skills:Competence in investigating and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
- Time Management:Strong time management skills to meet deadlines for reporting and compliance.
