
Sales Manager - Douala

Key Responsibilities:
1- Importation, Logistics & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the importation process, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and submitted on time.
- Handle container shipments, ensuring timely clearance and smooth logistics from the port to the warehouse.
- Work closely with the freight forwarder (transitaire) to facilitate customs clearance and avoid delays.
- Ensure compliance with local import regulations, including obtaining necessary vignettes and approvals for alcohol distribution.
- Monitor and track shipment schedules, ensuring accurate reporting of expected delivery timelines.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock rotation to prevent product expiration or damage.
- Work closely with warehouse sta to streamline storage, unloading, and distribution operations.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and revenue.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify new business opportunities and potential clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with on trade and o trade clients.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients and distributors.
- Lead and monitor sales team performance to achieve monthly and annual targets.
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to create accurate sales forecasts and purchasing plans.
- Monitor and follow up on payments from clients to ensure timely collection.
- Review payment due dates for all orders and proactively manage overdue clients.
- Implement an e ective payment tracking system and take action on late payments, including reminders and escalation when necessary.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, prospecting activities, stock depletion, and payment status.
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand visibility and sales.
- Organize tastings, promotional events, and partnerships with industry stakeholders.
- Ensure effective merchandising and placement of products at retail locations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sales and importation, preferably in the wine, spirits, or FMCG sector.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies and forecasts.
- Strong understanding of importation, logistics, and customs regulations in Cameroon.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Bilingual: Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft O ice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
